Yumi Omura (大村 裕美, Ōmura Yumi) is a supporting character in Chobits.
History[]
Background[]
Yumi is a seventeen-year-old high schooler who works at the Japanese pub My Pleasure and in the anime, is the daughter of the owner.
Previously, Yumi had worked at Chiroru Bakery and fell in love with its owner, Hiroyasu Ueda. However, upon learning about Ueda's late wife, a persocom who was also named Yumi, Yumi feared that Ueda would compare them and find her lacking. She subsequently broke up with him and quit working at Chiroru.
Events of Chobits[]
At My Pleasure, Yumi befriends coworker Hideki Motosuwa, who has a crush on her. After Hideki acquires the persocom he names Chi, he notices that Yumi gets depressed whenever the subject of Persocoms comes up and eventually learns about her history with Ueda. Thanks to Hideki and Chi, Yumi is reassured of Ueda's love for her and the pair reconcile.
